Heterodon nasicus
keeping Heterodon and other opistoglyph snakes is very difficult here, fortunately for me it is possible to work with partners in the Netherlands and still do some projects with these snakes, I don't have them at home anymore but that doesn't mean I cannot do my own projects with them, thanks to some good friends.
the original mother is very large, she now actually is much larger then on the picture. Heterodon in the wild play's dead, in captivity only newly hatched animals do this, very interresting to see!! And just look at the variation in baby heterodon clutches from one year (the picture shows animals from three clutches), a very interresting snake in every way! the projects go further with aimals with "tiger" patterns and some "red" specimens. these traits have allready been purified before but new bloodlines make sure that inbreeding is kept to a minimum. great pictures of heterodon "morphs" can be found on http://extremehogs.com/
ggod info about hognose species in the wild is found on http://www.hognose.com/
these links are also found in the link section.
