baby's hatched 16/07 -- 20/07, you can see the eggtooth
hatching
putting them in the stove
exp hatch 09/07/2010 + 20 days
what a surprise this morning 01/04/2010 can you believe it! 17 days after the PLS and 5 months after mating!
she is still busy 13 eggs and 1 slug are out and minimum 1 egg still in the female.
she is very docile (exhausted?) I could take the eggs without her moving at all, hope she will recover soon. 10 minutes later the last egg was laid, result; 14 eggs looking good and 1 slug, thats a clutch of 15 for her first time!!! hope she will be eating soon because she refused for the last months!
04/03/2010 refusing food for about a month, getting thicker and finally cloudy eyes, she is about to shed so within a month I should see some eggs
pre laying shed 15/03/2010
copulation 04/11/2009 for + 12 hours locked,
later this would be the only mating this year!
this is my male, nice reddish glow to the massive head.
Drymarchon is ophiofagous, that means putting them together has to be on the right moment and with supervision. Puting them together on November 2 showed a lot of "dancing" but no mating. putting them together on November 4 ended in true mating for more then 10 hours.
